English Vocabulary Quiz - 3

Janette was a logophile, which meant that she was a lover of words. In her learning journal, she wrote new words every day. She did it over many years, so she had a very good collection of beautiful words in her learning journal. One day, her classmates heard of her learning journal. They told their English teacher, Mrs. Johnson, about Janette’s learning journal with a lot of nice words. Mrs. Johnson appreciated Janette, and told the class that learning new words was a surefire way to improve their vocabulary, and becoming a very interesting conversationalist. The students suggested that to learn new words, they should have a vocabulary quiz every now and then in the class. Thus, they began this ritual of a vocabulary quiz every Thursday. The next Thursday, Mrs. Johnson gave the class the following vocabulary quiz.
