The Alien

Once, there lived a boy named Jim in a town called Greenville. He lived there with his parents and an elder sister. Near the town, there was a forest where people would generally go for their evening walks. Children would also play games. At other times, Jim enjoyed his surroundings, but he dreaded his summer holidays as most of his friends would be travelling.

One day, Jim’s elder sister Kathy invited her friends over. Jim was in no mood to play with the girls. He couldn’t bear this boring summer anymore with none of his friends around. So he finally decided to explore the nearby forest that afternoon. When his parents were taking a nap late afternoon that day, Jim quietly sneaked out of his house ensuring that his sister did not notice him. He then set off, strolling towards the forest.

Nearing the outskirts, Jim started running out of breath, so he decided to take a quick catnap. Sometime later, he was woken up by a chilly breeze. It was pitch dark and nothing was visible to him. A chill ran down his spine as he glanced up at a tree. Suddenly he saw a blue round thing on the tree which had red shiny eyes. He was frightened instantly. “What could this be?” He wondered! “An abominable alien?” He looked up at the tree again, very reluctantly and shuddered with the thought of having eye contact with the alien. Just then a stormy wind blew and the trees started swaying. Down came the blue round object which he thought was some alien from another planet. Well, the suspense was over, as it turned out to be nothing but just a Frisbee with two red markings. Perhaps it would have got stuck in the tree while some children were playing.

Now that Jim’s adventure was over, he decided to return home. Fortunately, his parents did not notice him enter the house. Perhaps they assumed that Jim was in his room. But by now, we all know what Jim had been up to. Don’t we?
