“Being A Quadruplet” is one of the outstanding stories (sub-junior) of the second biannual International Short Story Contest 2018 written by Michael Hamlet, B.M.P Ridge Street School, USA.

Being A Quadruplet

My name is Michael Hamlet and I am a quadruplet. It is a lot of fun being a quadruplet because we get to do things together not separate. I am the oldest because I came out of my mom’s stomach first. My three sisters’ names are Michelle, Madison, and Marissa.

I love my sisters. They are the nicest sisters in the world. They are like three angels. The girls love me for if one of the girls is in trouble, I take the blame. We all are the same age. We all stay together because if one needs help, I can help them. Want to hear a fact? Here is a fact: There is not a lot of quadruplets in the world.

Birthday parties are crazy in our house because we invite all our 4 classes and have one big party! We all are different from each other. We all go with the flow. I am the only kid in the family that has freckles. We are all being dentists when we get older. In school, we all have different teachers. All of my sisters are my favorite. At parties, if I don’t want the crust of pizza, my sisters can eat it. I do lots of sports. I always have a friend to play with. All three sisters do gymnastics. I do baseball, pre-team swimming, and basketball and the girls do gymnastics and basketball.

In the summer, I played baseball and during baseball I won every game during the play offs. I had butterflies in my stomach and I was worried, so when the game started we were losing by 5 points but on last inning, we got 20 points and won the game.

I am adding some facts to my story.

Fact1: Quads is a group of four born at 1 birth.

Fact 2: For every 15 million pregnancies, 1 of them is quadruplets,

Fact 3: Most quadruplets go in the NICU when they are born. We did, and we visit the doctors and nurses with cookies every Christmas.

We are lucky being a quadruplet. Mommy and Daddy always say we are better than winning the lottery! We are the best we can be and We Live, Love, Laugh, and Play.
