Grade 8 Science Lessons

Our Science Grade 8 Lessons extends the foundation from grade 7 to provide the students with a greater insight into physical, life, and the Earth sciences. By explicit discussion, enlightening experimentation, and directed inquiry, students further build a structured theory of how the world works based on scientific methods.

Topics for Grade 8 are the motion and forces, waves and their applications, chemical reactions, functions of cells, the impact of human on environment and the interrelations between energy and matter. Students engage in study of fundamental science topics like Newton's Laws, gravity, friction, photosynthesis and respiration; the periodic table - as well as having a solid exposure to the tools of science and experimental method.

In every unit, there are interactive worksheets, lab activities that are carried out manually, and tasks demanding problem solving and logical thinking. Students are encouraged to:

  • Investigate questions scientifically
  • Make and test predictions
  • Analyze data
  • Draw evidence-based conclusions
  • Provide their findings in clear and arranged methods

These lessons are intended to teach students to think like scientists so they can be prepared for further scientific investigation. And regardless of whether it is used in the classroom or for independent learning, Grade 8 science curriculum develops one's curiosity, responsibility, and confidence in the sciences.
