๐Ÿงฎ Numbers and Operations

Numbers and Operations focus on the main concepts of math needed for children to understand how numbers relate to each other. Completion of this topic develops number sense, something that will be important for future math work. Counting, adding, and subtracting gives children a good start in solving math-related problems. Try finding different methods to work with numbers since this will also develop your logical and math skills.

Counting to 100

Kids work on counting every number from one to hundred and notice the order in which they are placed. This skill teaches them how to group tens and ones, as well as to put numbers in order. Counting from 1 to 100 helps improve memory and attention, which allows a person to deal with larger numbers in the future. Making counting enjoyable for young children can be done by using songs, games, and charts.

Simple Addition / Subtraction

Kids use small numbers for practice in both addition and subtraction. Doing hands-on things, such as using your fingers or objects, helps you get a better idea of these things. Being able to complete simple addition and subtraction gives children an early start in learning more difficult math. Knowing about adding and grouping also helps children in simple tasks such as sharing or grouping objects.

Add or take away small numbers using toys, fingers, or pictures. These simple operations help build logical thinking and mental math skills.
