๐ Patterns and Relationships
Patterns and Relationships allows students to find and develop patterns, improving their understanding and use of algebraic thinking and reasoning. When children identify patterns, they can use them to guess, arrange things properly and resolve issues be The discussion can improve their understanding of functions, sequences and helping with real-life problems.
Numerical Patterns
They learn to look for patterns in numbers such as when numbers are multiplied by a set rule. They work on understanding the rules, extending the sequences and identifying relationships between each item. Seeing patterns in numbers increases studentsโ number awareness and makes them ready for algebra. Pattern puzzles and tables are some of the fun ways students can keep learning interactive.
Activity Idea
Pattern Detective - Write a list of numbers and have your child find the pattern and extend it.
Entertainment Activities
1. Number Line Skip - Skip count forward/backward and find the rule.
2. Pattern Bracelet - Create a beaded bracelet using numerical rules.
3. Clap and Count Game - Clap on each multiple of a pattern rule (e.g., every third number).
