In our efforts to keep our children on the track to the Right Path, we, as parents, must not compromise. Therefore, it is vital that parents teach their children to learn the holy Quran from a very young age. You will then get many benefits from teaching the Quran to children at a young age. As we delve into the benefits of reading the Quran, we learn that the noble Quran is the greatest book ever because it is the words of Allah the Almighty. This is because the Gibreel Gabriel, may Allah exalt his mention brought down to the Prophet Muhammad (SAWW) on Earth. The Quran is faultless, with low distortion, forgery, mistakes, or doubts. Allah Almighty says, ” Advise Your Households to Practice Prayer and Read the Quran.”
The Prophet (SAWW) always encouraged his companions to read the Quran, understand it, and learn it by heart. Naturally, we should follow the same advice. The Prophet (SAWW) placed the people who discovered the Quran by heart into a very special position. He told us that the person who is more worthy to lead group prayers is the person who knows more of the Quran by heart, even if there’s an older or more important person around. The Prophet (SAWW) also said that Allah the Almighty favors the people who learn and teach the Quran. It is narrated that he (SAWW) said, “The best of you are those who study the Quran and teach it to others.”
The Messenger Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, “The best amongst you are those who learn the Quran and teach it.” However, for most of us, Arabic is a foreign language, and we cannot read the Quran. This often invokes frustration, and sometimes we even find it too challenging and opt out. But the Messenger Muhammad reassured us that the time and effort spent attempting to recite the Quran are never wasted. He said, “The fluent reader of the Quran will be in the company of the noble angels.”
To ensure your child reaps such rewards in both this life and the hereafter, enrolling them in Quran classes for kids can make learning more accessible. These classes provide structured guidance, helping children connect with the Quran and develop fluency over time
In another narration, the Messenger Muhammad said, “Read the Quran, for it will come and intercede for its readers on the Day of Judgment. Read the chapters of the Cow and the Family of Imran, for they will come as clouds or a flock of birds on the Day of Judgment, interceding on behalf of its readers.” Every word of the Quran that we read is taught to be equal to ten rewards. Therefore, each time you teach your child to read even the shortest chapter of the Quran, it’s extremely rewarding. Every word you memorize in the Quran will translate to a higher level for you in paradise. Although memorization can be difficult in the beginning, consistent practice, along with frequent repetition, will bring ease to this blessed act of worship.
Our religion is based on the Quran alongside the teachings of the Messenger Muhammad. He told us that the Quran is the rope that extends down to us from the heavens and spent much of his life teaching and explaining the Quran. He encouraged his disciples to learn the Quran and teach it to others. Thus, the Quran has been studied and taught, being passed down from generation to generation.
Reading, learning, and studying the Quran is crucial for all Muslims. It is from the Quran that we learn what God expects of us and what pleases Him so that we can develop a relationship that is obedient to His commands upon us and the rest of humanity. The Quran is the foundation of learning Islam. The Messenger Muhammad gave the parable of the one who learns from the guidance of the Quran as well as in his teachings.
Summing up the discussion, we conclude that teaching the Quran to children at a young age brings them a lot of virtues and benefits. The Quran can even be your passport to paradise. On the Day of Judgment, the Quran will actually ask Allah Almighty to forgive any person who is used to reading and studying the Quran. As a result, Allah Almighty will forgive that person and allow him into paradise.
There is another wonderful prize for learning the Quran. We know that one gets the reward of ten good deeds just for reading a single letter of it. Now, if someone is really good at reading the Quran as it should be read, this person will be with the noble angels on the Day of Resurrection. However, even if he reads it with some difficulty, he will receive double rewards. He will be rewarded once for reading the Quran and then again for his effort and patience in reading it.
