How to potty train the kids the right way?

Children are born intelligent and the way they are nurtured make the big difference. It is almost a motto of every mom to make the child intelligent! Yet, something that most mommies find a difficult thing to develop in their child is potty training!

Potty training kids are one of the difficult trials that most parents experience. How to potty train the kids the right way?

Start at the right age

While a few start panicking with their child as early as 12 months, there are many who never potty train their child until they join turn preschoolers. The right age to start potty training kids is between 18 months to 2 years. Since most children join the school before they turn 3 years as pre-schoolers, beginning the training before the age of 2 is ideal.

Patience is essential

You cannot expect the little one to do as you direct perfectly. Potty training needs a lot of patience. You may get frustrated to many reasons. The kid may fell down, may play with the potty chair or doesn’t want to sit on the toilet, etc. So, stay patient for a while. You cannot rush with your kids and expect the results to be quick. Some child would take more than a year to get trained completely.

Colourful Potty Chair and Accessories

Something that attracts most the kids is colourful toys and accessories. Why not buy a colourful and adorable potty chair with attractive accessories? Potty chairs come in various shapes and colours with huge line of accessories. It is the tendency of the children that they won’t come closer to anything that they hate! So, make it appealing to the kids and don’t worry you don’t need to invest a huge sum towards buying a potty chair!

Talk sweetly

Sweet words and a big smile in your face are more powerful than handful rewards for kids. Praise them with nice motivating words when you potty train. Claps, hugs and kisses encourage the children. Talking harshly will have no positive development and it will reduce the interest of children.

Explain and talk

Potty training kids aren’t a difficult task anymore as we have access to plenty of potty training books and videos. You may read a book, explain with a DVD video and start talking with your child about potty training.

Fun

Potty training kids can be completely fun. Flushing the toilet, washing hands and legs etc can be extremely fun. You can use bubble hand wash. You can also explain and educate the importance of Health and Hygiene.

It is good to start potty training kids at home by you. Don’t leave it the nanny or day care staff. Implement the good and healthy practices at home. Also, make sure to watch your kids and don’t leave them alone.

In addition, before you start potty training; ensure that your child is physically and emotionally ready to learn a new thing. Girls tend to get trained quickly than boy babies.
