Painting Ideas for Kids

Children at all age levels express themselves with creative and interesting ideas. This may vary depending on their area of interest and skills. This section of Kids World Fun’s post discusses “Painting Ideas for Your Kids”. Painting is one of the finest arts which allow your kids to take part in an activity that is fun and fulfilling. Every child likes to play with colours and brush. Some kids express it beautifully with lines, and colours the other group does just express what they found around them with colors. In both case it helps to develop a stronger brain, critical-thinking, and creativity. For young children, it’s an inviting, accessible and engaging material. That’s the reason why KIDS WORLD FUN has come up with this topic.

Art is a language in its own and even the tiniest babies respond to the contrasts in light and color. You might have noticed small children expressing their feelings, and needs through paints. Here the sharing of ideas becomes easier and safer between parents and children. For young children, painting is an enriching experience that will support their growth, development and self-expression. The benefit and value of painting are enormous. Here we bring educational possibilities of painting.

Ice Painting

Ice painting is a good idea to do on a hot summer day. It might be a messy thing, but a cool, fun and colourful activity to play with. You will experience the different blends of colour when applied to an ice cubes and also a beautiful texture form when used onto the paper. All you need is an ice tray, water and different colours.

Painting using Flowers

The Flower Painting activity is so quick and easy to set up. This activity allows kids the freedom to explore their creativity and imagination by transforming the different pattern of flowers onto the paper, mixing paints together and creating shapes and pictures with no restrictions or expectations. You just have to set up the activity table with colours and placed the daisies face down into the paint with the stem facing upwards.

Hand Painting

Apart from the usual drawing and colouring techniques, hand-painting can be a joyful experience for your kids, which allow them to have more space for creativity and thereby paving their way to create unique works of art specific to their imagination. Hand-painting can be a rewarding experience, since it builds colour and shape recognition skills, allowing your child to explore their sense of touch with different textured materials. It is also great for fine-tuning their motor skills.

Using a little imagination and exploring a range of different methods, you can create amazing artworks with hand painting. And the great thing about hand and finger paintings is that they’re always going to be unique, since they’ll feature your child’s individual fingerprints! All you need is a quiet place to paint with your kid, paints, and paper.

Glass Painting

You can do so many different things using glass paints.  Since, glass paints are not only used for making decorative wall arts and frames, it can be used to make calendars, vases, lamps, trays and more. With new techniques, it becomes easy to paint on glass. Even if your hands are not steady, you can create beautiful things. Glass painting can be done by anyone. That means you don’t need to be a professional. It can give you a very satisfying output if you follow some basic steps and guidelines. You can turn a plain glass into a valuable piece of art. Not only that, you can even personalize your glass photo frames or turn an unused glass into an art piece. Just kick up your creative mind and get going!!

You can even inspire your kids to try fabric painting, face painting, painting with vegetables, room decors as well. Go through some funny pictures and get inspired for painting.

When you allow your children to paint and express in their own way and if they are having fun and being free with colours, shapes and techniques, a fabulous art project will be just a few brushstrokes away. But remember that the opportunity to express one’s impression or feeling through painting it is far more important.

As Picasso once said: “I used to draw like Raphael. But it has taken me a life time to draw like a child.” Find Beautiful Quotes for Kids
