Group Fun Activities and Playing Ideas For Kids

Group fun activities are beneficial for kids of all ages. Significance of group playing is that your kid will learn team work. Group activities will also improve kids’ communication skills and social skills at an early age. Understanding how to build and communicate in team will help kids in so many ways in their future academic progress as well as in their workplace. There are many creative and entertaining indoor / outdoor group fun activities which can make your kids to learn this skill and enjoy their free times as well.

Who am I: This is a nice group playing activity for younger kids. In this group game, each child in the group has to record a sentence about him/her on a recording device. For example one can say, “I am four years old, I have long black hair and I am wearing pink dress. Who am I?” After recording each one’s voice individually, play it back to the group of children and ask them to guess the voice of kid who is speaking.

Freeze: It is a popular game among kids of all ages. It can be simply played indoor or outdoor. Choose a kid as Mr. / Ms. Freeze. The other kids can run around Mr. Freeze until he says “freeze”. Kids should remain in freeze position until Mr. Freeze says “Unfreeze.” You can also play some music and ask the children to dance until the music stops. When you stop the music, the kids have to freeze suddenly in whatever position they are.

Duck, Duck, Goose: A perfect game activity suitable for children with high energy. Sit the children in a circle shape, facing each other. One kid walk around the circle and taps on the head of each kid calling him duck. The fun begins when child calls someone a goose. The “goose” chases the first child and tries to catch him before he can sit down in the open space. If the goose gets him, the first one has another go. If goose fails, he had to walk around the circle and find another goose.

Hide and Seek: No group play activities are complete without the popular Hide and Seek. In this game, one child covers his/her eyes and counts aloud while other kids hide. When the child has finished counting, he/she started to find out the hiding kids. The game is won by searching out the last player in the group.

Hot Potato: A funny play activity for younger kids. For this game kids have to sit in large circle. Then turn on some music and have them a soft ball and ask them to pretend the ball as a hot potato. Ask them to pass the ball as fast as they can. When the music stops, the kid holding the hot potato/ball is out. The winner will be the last one left in the group.

In addition to the above, there are many group fun games free time activities including online games, singing, dancing, simple sports games, memory games, blowing bubble games, pencil and paper games, play with them to entertain children of all ages.
