Imitation – Boys Imitates Father and Girls Mother

There are many babies, who exactly resemble their father or mother! We heard many people surprised at your baby, “oh, the cute girl is exactly like her mom!” or “man, your baby boy is just a photocopy of you!!”

It is a very surprising fact that most of the baby girls resemble their mother and the boys resemble the father. Of course, it happens otherwise too! The baby boys and girls not just inherit the looks from their father and mother, respectively, but also their habits and behavior.

Are you surprised by the acts of your kid, where the boy baby imitates the father and the girl imitating the mother? For instance, sleeping position, mannerisms, eating habits, etc. generally passes from dad to baby boy and mom to a girl! While a part of the babies’ behavior is inherited by the mom or dad, the kids actually learn it through by watching the activities. Well, it is quite natural with kids as they consider the father and mother as their role model!

According to research on child development, as said earlier, boys imitate father and girls imitate mother. Each and every action is observed by the kids and imitated by them, even if it makes no sense.
For instance, girl babies wear makeup, comb their hair, etc. Similarly, boys tend to shave, exercise, etc.!

Why boys imitate father and girls mother?

There is no hidden secret behind the same. Kids get attracted to the same gender when they are very young!

Children are natural imitators and they begin to replicate each and every activity of the parent. They are curious about the parent’s action and strive hard to resemble them. Imitating the parent actually does no harm to your kids, rather it let the kids grow, learn, communicate and develop. In fact, imitation is a part of a developmental phase in children, which indirectly depicts that your kid is observing keenly!

Besides, girls used to play with dolls, feeding them, playing with them as a mother, etc. Watching the kids imitating the parent is very hilarious and entertaining.

They observe the gestures, the language, the reactions, the moods, etc. and imitate the same. The alarming factor in boys imitating father and girls imitating mother is they do it without actually knowing what they do! Or doesn’t have the clear understanding of what the parent says!

Whether it is a boy or a girl, Sometimes, the kids mock and imitate the way they parent talk to the other. While imitating is good for kids’ growth, many times the parent doesn’t act as a good role model.

There is a famous saying, “Children have never been good at listening to their elders, but they have never failed to imitate them.

So, if your child imitates you, then it is a great platform to impart good behavior and manners in your kid. You need not talk to them, rather just do it.

  • Develop nutritional eating habits by eating nutritious foods.
  • Let them know how important is hygiene and cleanliness
  • Make them understand the routines and follow it diligently

Since being a role model to your son or daughter, don’t pose yourself negatively with wrong acts. In fact, if you fight with your wife or husband in front of your kid, the kids, no matter, a boy or a girl, will mock you!
