How To Recover Data From An SSD Drive on Windows & Mac

The world is becoming increasingly digital. As more of our lives are spent on computers, the need for data recovery has risen. The most common type of storage device today is an SSD drive. It’s not uncommon for the data on these drives to become corrupted or even inaccessible. This can be caused by different factors, including user error, wear and tear on the hard drive, or even a power outage. However, there are ways you can recover information from an SSD drive on Windows and Mac OSX. Here are some steps you can take to restore your data.

What is an SSD Drive?

An SSD drive is a solid-state drive, which means it has no moving parts. Instead, the SSD relies on flash memory chips. This type of storage device can be especially advantageous for those interested in transferring data quickly, as there are no moving parts to slow down the process. There are some disadvantages to using an SSD too. The main one is that they are more likely to fail than traditional hard drives because they lack moving parts.

The other main disadvantage of an SSD is that they have a limited lifespan. The more you use your drive, the more wear and tear it will have, eventually leading to data loss or corruption.

Why Do SSD Drives Fail?

An SSD drive can fail in many ways. The most common way is when there’s a power outage, which can cause data to become corrupt. Although the data will be readable, it may not be possible to modify or delete files. A power outage can also cause physical damage to the drive if the computer was on at the time of failure. Another way an SSD drive could fail is due to faulty hardware. Physical damage can happen when you drop your laptop or tablet. If this happens, your data may become inaccessible, and you’ll need data extraction services to recover anything that hasn’t been lost. User error is also a common cause for an SSD drive to fail. When people unplug their computers before they’re finished booting up, they risk losing all of their information on their hard drive without realizing it.

Windows Data Recovery

In order to recover data from an SSD drive on Windows, you will need a few things:
– A Windows computer with at least 500MB of free space.
– A blank writable CD or DVD.
– The right software for the operating system.

One of the most popular software programs for Windows is DiskGenius and Recuva. In order to use DiskGenius, insert your blank CD or DVD and download the site’s latest version of DiskGenius as well as its installer program onto your computer. Double click on the file to install it and follow the prompts for installation. After installing DiskGenius, insert your corrupted SSD into your computer’s disc tray and open up DiskGenius to select recovery mode under “File Recovery.” Select “Smart recovery” and then restart recovery mode again after scanning completes. Now you’ll need to consult the help files available in the software for more detailed instructions on how to use this particular software to recover your data from an SSD drive on Windows.

Mac OSX Data Recovery

The first step to recovering data from an SSD drive on Mac is identifying the problem. Unfortunately, this can sometimes be difficult because data can be lost for many different reasons. One way to tell if the problem is with the hard drive is to look for an unusual activity like a clicking sound or a blue screen. The other way is to try and access the files, and if they aren’t accessible, you will need to recover them. If you have an encrypted volume, it will appear as “read-only” or “lock.”

Once you’ve identified the root of the problem, you’ll need to find an ssd data recovery service or software like Disk Drill. Download and install this software, and once you’re ready, click on “Recover.” You’ll then select your storage device and choose which file types you want to recover. The next step is just waiting for Disk Drill to do its work! This process can take quite some time, but it’s worth it when your data returns safely.
