6 Screen-Free Activities Every Child Will Enjoy

Nowadays, kids are always glued to their screens watching the newest cartoons, meme videos and more. This can lead to attention-issues and impact the quality of sleep your children get, especially if they are playing video games before bed.

Luckily, with a little creativity, you can teach your kids to have fun without an iPad or a video game controller in their hands. The sooner you can teach your kids the value of wholesome activities like yoga, biking or team sports, the less likely they are to develop an addiction to Roblox or other harmful video games.

1. Nature Walks

Biking with your little ones is a great way to keep them busy and keep the whole family healthy. Just make sure that your kids have the proper helmets and safety gear and you’re good to go. You might also want to pack proper snacks and water bottles incase you go for a longer ride and need to fuel up.

3. Yoga for Kids

The benefits of yoga are enormous. It can help you calm your mind, stay fit and build mindfulness. For kids, it can be a practice that changes the trajectory of their lives. Whether you want to guide them through a YouTube yoga class or take them to an actual studio, it could be the perfect new habit to get your child active and relaxed.

4. Team Sports

As a kid, you’re overflowing with energy. It only makes sense to choose outlets where you can expend that energy so that you aren’t restless when given homework or other tasks.That’s where team sports like soccer or basketball can come in handy. It gets your kids running around, teaches them the value of teamwork and can introduce them to an assortment of new friends.

Buy some good picture books or novellas and read them to your children before bed or after dinner. This can help them build out their vocabulary and stretch their imaginations. Plus, it gives the added benefit of calming them down before bedtime.
