According to a recent study, girls who are close to the age of 15 tend to get more aggressive and the parents experience severe behavioral issues with their children.
There is a lot of difference in how a boy and a girl behave with ADHD! While most of the boys with ADHD show off their upswings and mood swings abruptly in the classroom, in the playground and even amidst the huge crowd! Testing behaviors are common in a boy with ADHD. However, girls don’t show-up well! They tend to daydream a lot!
Most girl children who are in the risk of ADHD tend to remain quiet and stay alone! They don’t socialize with friends; they remain silent even if they stay in a group! In classrooms they couldn’t concentrate on the studies, rather stare at something else! Twisting hairs, looking at windows, staring at nothing, etc occurs commonly. Simply, ADHD girls suffer more and exhibit it through silence.
Not all girls are chatty or talkative. As they grow older, more girl children tend to become calm! Of course, there are many who go reverse! It makes the parents unable to identify the sudden change in their behavior! Also, they were labeled as daydreamers! It doesn’t make a big deal to parents.
These girls gain a lot of internal distractions which they are unable to express. Often, they go undiagnosed. It ends up with chronic depression, anxiety disorders, poor social relationship, etc.
Both parents and teachers consider the silence and distraction as laziness and lack of interest in studies. Simply, they are labeled as extremely lazy!
Peer pressure is the major cause of ADHD in girl child. Identification and diagnosis of this behavioral problem at an early age is essential to avoid complications as the child grows!
