Five Engaging Indoor Games for Kids

Finding engaging indoor games to keep the children occupied have always proved difficult for most parents. Children always look for some innovative games to spend their time. Beyond television and mobile phones, there is a life for kids. Involve your children and the neighboring kids. Organize these simple yet engaging games for kids that keep them occupied.

Naming the Balloon

Give 10 balloons (blown up balloons) to each kid and ask them to write their names on it. It is difficult to write on the delicate surface of the balloon. Too much pressure and the balloon will pop and burst. This will not only improve the child’s concentration, but also their self-assurance.

Recall Protocol

Place around 20 to 30 random items on a table and ask the children to memorize the items. For example, comb, book, torch-light, remote, candy, banana, pencil, pen; any item will do. Give the kids about three to four minutes to look and memorize these items. Now, ask them to leave the room. Ask the kids to write on a piece of paper as many items that they can remember. The child who remembers and writes the most number of items by recalling them correctly will be the winner. This is one of the best memory boosting games for kids.

Colorful Art

Take a chart paper, and draw a base figure on the chart. It can be a circle, triangle or sun or even a small line. Ask each child to contribute something to the picture. If you start with a circle, ask the next child to continue drawing and let it continue. The children would enjoy and be pleased at the final image.

Treasure Hunt

It is one of those interesting games that is loved by people of all ages. Hide the treasure, mark the clues, give suitable hints and ask the kids to find the treasure. Be creative. At first, give some easy clues to motivate them. Do not forget to reward the kids, should they find the treasure.

Hide and Seek

This game is one of the most exciting games for kids. This classic game is all about finding the kids hidden at different places. While one child will be the ‘catcher’, the others will hide at different places. The first kid who is caught will become the next catcher. This however is only after the catcher finds all the hidden children.

Gear up the kids to have some fun time in the indoors.

It is great to play these five engaging indoor games, if you are stuck in the house with the kids.
