Kids Poems » A Short Poem - Come Out To Play

Welcome to read and enjoy this poem that calls children out of the world of technology - the internet and the television, the play station and the ipads. It is a call to kids, to get moving, to enjoy the breeze, and to just enjoy their childhood.

It’s Time To Play

Girls and boys, it’s time to play,
The sun smiles softly, it’s not yet night,
Breezy evening, here for us,
Lovely day, it’s fun for us.

Leave your surfing,
Leave your watching,
Leave your gaming,
It’s time to play.

Girls and boys, climb a tree,
Come with a whoop, come with a skip,
Go on a roll, bring your ball
Let’s eat a bun, have a little fun.

Let go your long face,
Let go your droopy eyes,
Let go restless fingers,
It’s time to play,

Swing up in the sky,
Go whoosh in the valley,
Go merry go round,
Catch butterflies around.

Leave your play stations,
Leave your ipads,
Leave your ipods,
Leave your iphones.

Come in your sandals,
Come join your pals,
Come with a good will,
Or not at all.

Leave your tablets,
Leave your videos,
Leave youtube,
Come, move a little.

Let birds be birds,
Let kids be kids,
Let loose your hair,
Let go your gloom.

For play is your business,
You are born to move,
You are born to dance,
You are born to embrace.

So leave your screen,
Don’t let out a scream,
So much more to life,
There is, dear one.
