Changing your kids eating habits is the best and easiest way to curb down most illnesses. Should we not make it a way to prevent health hazards? The best and most valuable gift that a parent can give to their child is good health.

Take them shopping with you when you buy groceries

Involve in some flavor games

Let your kids learn the different flavors. Allow them identify the different flavors, which are good and bad, yummy and yucky! A child’s palate is developed based on the preferential flavors. Include spices to identify strong flavors, pungent smell, etc. Exploration of different flavors and cooking food with all flavors keep them eat nutritious food. (Remember to eat foods cooked with all flavors and colors in a major meal). This way you can slowly introduce a healthy diet to as their regular nourishment.

Don’t cook alternatives for kids

Children are special. But don’t make them always a priority when cooking. Avoid cooking ‘Kid’s meal’ a separate meal for kids especially every day. Let your kids eat what you cook for your family. If you cook some hot and spicy or tangy food, before adding the spices or more flavors, keep a portion aside for the children. However, make sure your choice of foods also contain at least one food loved by the kid. The idea is that everyone gets to eat their favorite food.

Do not stock up foods that you find unhealthy

When you don’t want to feed your children unhealthy food, just avoid buying it. For instance, tins and cans are unhealthy! Don’t buy it. Don’t buy the ready to cook pizza or any ready to eat foods.  Make it on your own at home. Even your kid would remember that you forgot buying the same food when you shop.

Get creative with foods

When the plate is colorful, eating can be fun and the child’s palate changes. For example, you can create images of animals with fruits in to their regular diet. You can slowly introduce real food by using such methods.

These methods will only help change the child’s palate and change the kids eating habits.
