Child Scary Situations to Handle Wisely

Child and child care is a very tedious aspect. Many times the little one gives you creeps. How to handle the emergency and scary situations wisely?

Any new parent, along with the extreme happiness and joy, bring a sort of tension, scariness when they take their newborn home! Child care, upbringing a child, watching the child development, etc can be awesome. Yet you would have to face some terrifying moments, rising up your pressure levels and scaring you to the core!

There can be life threatening emergencies for your child and you should know about handling these situations wisely. In fact, learning about when to call a doctor during emergency situations will be of great help.  Read on to handle the child scary moments wisely and effortlessly!



Chocking:

Almost every second is counted when your child could not breathe properly or could not breathe at all due to chocking. Chocking is common in babies, yet it can be fatal!

Check your child and make the little one cough. You can simply mimic coughing and it will improve the lung power. Give two or three blows on the back of the child, not more than that. Don’t try to insert your fingers to remove the obstacle as it might push the object further down.

If your child could not breathe property or speak, it is dangerous.

Burns:

Many times child catching burn injuries will be minor. Make the injured part of the child soothed in the running cold water. It will prevent further worsening of the injury and reduces the pain. Apply any antibiotic cream.

When there are any blisters in the injured area, don’t try to break it. If you are not sure about using the right cream, consult with your doctor.

However, if your child injured with burns in face or genital parts or if the burns are moderate to severe, seek medical advice.

How to deal the emergency situations wisely without seeking medical attention?

When a hot cup of coffee or milk spills on your child –

Run cold water on the injured skin for around 5 minutes to cool off. Don’t cover the injured part and remove off clothes if any.

Sometime you will notice sudden development of rashes all over the body, especially in chest, tummy, etc. These are called hives and they are common allergies in babies. There is nothing to panic. Make your child stay away from allergens like shampoo, detergent, medicines, food, etc.

When your child fall down – Don’t panic or scream at your child. Just watch out if there is any swelling in any area, especially in head, hands and legs. Check for any bleeding or injuries. Just run your hands in all parts of the child to ensure that there is nothing serious. If you find any part of head is swollen, apply ice to ease out the inflammation.

Many times, the child will cry for sometime due to shock and console the little one to get relieved. If you find prolonged crying or difficulty in walking or hand movements, take your kid to doctor.

When to call a doctor or take your child immediately to get appropriate medical attention?

Knowing when to call a doctor or seek an immediate medical attention during handling the child scary moments is crucial. These are the moments where you cannot delay with any first aid or try out any other medications.

When the child turns unconscious or a difference in the consciousness – When your little one is unresponsive or seems it could not concentrate or be attentive to something, immediate attention is essential.

When your child turns blue – An indication that something is gone too wrong and must go for emergency treatment.

Fever – Fever is common in toddlers, but not in the babies lesser than 3 months old. It would be the stage where the babies would have just started with their vaccination routine and could not resist infection. Fever exceeding 100 degree in babies not older than 4 months is dangerous.

Dehydration: Lack of saliva, no signs of urination for several hours, absence of tears, etc are the indicator of dehydration. Many times, these signs follow vomiting or diarrhea.

When your child consumes any adult’s medicine – This is a serious concern irrespective of the type of medicine taken by the child.
